Canadian Dance Teacher's Association

The Canadian Dance Teachers' Association ("CDTA") is a nationally recognized
body that aims to establish and maintain, throughout Canada, a formal non-profit
organization of qualified dance teachers in all disciplines of dance.
The CDTA certification process ensures that its member teachers are thoroughly
qualified prior to entering the organization.  Students are assured that their dance
instruction is in the hands of an independently accredited professional.
The CDTA syllabus was developed to ensure that students are taught proper
dance technique in accordance with nationally recognized standards.  The
syllabus provides teachers with both a guide of instruction and a measurement of
students' progress.
Parents are aware that an accredited teacher can make the difference to their
child's good health and well being. They appreciate that their child is being taught
by a qualified instructor in accordance with nationally recognized standards and a
proven program of instruction.
The Canadian Dance Teachers' Association was founded in 1949  and has
branches in the Atlantic Provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and
British Columbia.

Student/Parent-Submitted Comments

" I think Miss Angela is nice...she always encourages me to be the
best I can be...and I don't think I would have danced if it wasn't for
her.  She believes in me, and has allowed me to express myself as a
boy dancer.  I want to dance and go far in dance, and be a great
teacher like she is one day...and choreograph my own dances and
other student dances as well. " ...Tannen

" Thank you so much for the opportunity that you have given me. I
truly appreciate everything and I look forward to class all the time!!!
"...Tanya

" Your passion for dancing has always been an amazement to me. You
will always be the woman that gave me the hope i never found for
myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to live life through
dance. i want that to always be a big part of my life.
Thank you. Love always "... Skye

" I was a little hesitant of putting my daughter, who was only two at
the time, into a dance class.  After the first class with "Miss Angela"
she was very excited and couldn't wait to go back.  She has had an
excellent time because Angela takes the time to teach her and be
patient.  Emma is very much looking forward to going back next year!
"...Sam

" We arrived home in the wee hours of my son's first dance
competition.  I drove for two plus hours so I had alot of time to process
what we had just experienced.  Many parents..mostly moms..who are
trying to live thru their kids, and the pressure was incredible...I felt
bad for these girls, and a few boys(although the parents of those few
seemed much more relaxed), and knew that no matter what my son
does, I never want him to feel like that.  It was quite an experience,
and an eye opener, but after much thought, I know that if Tannen is
meant to dance, we will just go forth.  I know and saw with my own
eyes how truly special Angela Maracle is, how she truly enjoys what
she does, and how she pushes the kids to do their best, and to feel
good about themselves.  She cares how they feel and how they look at
themselves.  Angela showed me this weekend how important the kids
in her school are to her, it wasn't about the trophies and medals, it
was about how positive they
felt when they were done dancing...Miss Angela has integrity and it
was clearly obvious at the beginning of this competition.  I was ready
to just cry and leave, but Angela just allowed me to see things as they
should be., Our kids having fun and improving their skills to be the
best they can be and to feel good about who they are created to be.
Angela...you have no idea how humble you are, and how impressed I
am again that coach my son.  You are a blessing and we are so
thankful for you. "....Penny

" It makes me so happy to see that a whole new generation of kids get
to study with you, Angela - I know the things I learned at your former
school  were invaluable, and caused me to achieve a LOT of success
in my later years of dance (which I still haven't given up). I plan on
pursuing a career in dance and dance training so I can one day open
my own studio - just like you! '...Marta

" Angela Maracle is an amazing and accomplished woman. She puts
her heart into everything she does and cares so genuinely about
every one of her students. She is determined, intelligent and creative.
Angela always has faith in people and has given me all the
opportunities of a lifetime. I love Angela for all the inspiration she has
given me and everything she has done for me. "... Alyssa

"The youth love a teacher that cares, no matter what size you are or
where you come from...and that is you Angela ! '...Darlene

" I think that Miss Angela gives me an experience I hadn't thought
possible. Back a year ago when i did dance for fun, i never dreamed
that i would be up on that competition stage dancing to my fullest!
Miss Angela has made me a better dancer and a better person. She is
not just a dance teacher, she is a life changer. She changes many
lives just like she changed mine " ....Emma, Age 9

"My daughter loves her dance class! Especially Miss Jessica. Her face
lights up as soon as we pull up in front of your studio. Thursday night
is my daughter's favourite day of the week because she is going to
dance with Miss Jessica. In the last three months she has learned to
love dance because of Miss Jessica. She is greeted every Thursday
with a warm welcoming smile  and by someone who adores teaching
these little girls.
I chose your dance studio because you were the only one that took
children at such a young age. Another reason why I chose your school
was the flexibility, with my family's crazy busy schedule it was the
only night that worked for us. My daughter loves to show all of her
friends, relatives and care givers what Miss Jessica has taught her.
Her caregiver asked me what "No no toes" were and my daughter
showed her. From observing through the window and the class where
people can sit in I can't believe how much she has learned! "....Dance

FAQs

Do You Have Boys In Your Classes?

Yes, we have many male students... age 2 to 14 enrolled
at our studio!

Why Don't Your Students Require School Uniforms?

We don't believe children need matching uniforms to
dance together in a class. We ask that students wear
proper dance attire, but expensive school uniforms are
unnecessary.

How Much Does it Cost?

Our lesson fees for children are very reasonable,
because we understand that raising a family is not
always easy! Beginner classes for young students are
only $8 each. Fees are payable by term, but parents are
always welcome to split payments in a series of
post-dated cheques.
